The most beautiful stories

you will ever hear

Welcome!

Here you will find a beautiful compilation of awe-inspiring stories  from people who have participated in the Shared Crossing Research Initiative. We are proud to have been helping people to have a conscious, connected and loving end-of-life experience for over 10 years through our research, programs and services and offer these stories as a means of educating people about shared crossings.

A message from William

I extend heart-felt thanks to all of our research participants who have made this Story Library possible. Your help in conveying the message that anyone can experience a shared crossing or a shared death experience with a loved one is truly inspiring! In this short video, I share one of my first shared death experiences. You will find many more stories in my book, At Heaven's Door.

SHARED DEATH EXPERIENCE
Mara's SDE with her husband, Maurice
Ā

ā€œI felt a presence, a very large, warm and gentle presence, and I hear him say Mara, I love you.ā€

Mara, now a Registered Nurse, was her husband’s primary care giver for many years. Maurice suffered a 40-foot fall and was paralyzed for six years prior to his transition. He was recently hospitalized with a serious infection and in a coma. Mara was in bed at home and the room was very dark. ā€œI felt a very large presence. It was Maurice. A woman knows her husband’s presence.ā€

SHARED DEATH EXPERIENCE

John's SDE with his mother

ā€œShe took a deep breath, and I could feel her spirit lift off.ā€

ā€œI was sitting at her bedside just having an outpouring of love, of gratitude for all she had done for me. For the love that she had given me throughout her life and all that she done to support me be there for me. After a few minutes of just kind of being in that state of gratitude,Ā her life flashed before my eyes.ā€

SHARED DEATH EXPERIENCE

Sonya's SDE with her friend Dennie
Ā

ā€œI suddenly became aware that in this split moment Dennie was dying and when I woke up, I wouldn’t be there anymore.ā€

Sonya is an artist and a mom. She met Dennie in a women’s group and developed a short but very connected friendship. Sonya came home one day and had a sudden feeling of absolute exhaustion. She laid down and fell into this dead to the world sort of sleep and started having a dream. ā€œI was on a boat. I stepped off the boat and I looked up and there was Dennie looking straight at me. I thought wait a second, Dennie’s on this journey? She is sick. Why is she here?ā€

SHARED DEATH EXPERIENCE

Sallie's SDE with her mother
Ā

ā€œI think I witnessed mom’s birth into the next phase of her journey.ā€

Ā Sallie’s mom received hospice care for four days before she transitioned. Sallie was with her mom at her bedside when she noticed her mom’s breathing slow down and she sensed something happening in her mom’s body. ā€œI noticed a membranous thing coming loose from the surface of her entire body and a gray substance was also congealing within the thing.ā€
